Your safety and wellbeing is our top priority.

LSBF Singapore is continually monitoring the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and responding to the latest guides and regulations from the Government of Singapore. Since the reopening of our campus, we have placed our top priority on the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and visitors.

Our current efforts and plans are designed to help everyone thrive and succeed while keeping our teaching and support flexible so that students can continue to learn in a safe situation without interruptions.

We ask you to play your part in looking after yourself and others by following our guidance on COVID awareness in everything you do on campus.

Safe Entry Protocols

Effective 1 January 2022, only fully vaccinated students will be allowed to enter the campus.

Other Safety Measures

To ensure a safe and conducive environment for our students, faculty, and staff, and visitors, we have crafted safety policies that will be strictly adhered to on LSBF premises.

Here are some guidelines we have implemented on our campus and offices to keep students, staff and faculty, and visitors safe:

  • Students and staff who are unwell, or who have adult household members on home quarantine/Stay Home Notice or have flu-like symptoms such as fever and cough, will be required to stay away from school.
  • Students and staff are required to wear their masks at all times.
  • All individuals must check-in and out using SafeEntry, when entering or leaving the building.
  • Students and staff must keep a safe distance of at least 1 meter at all times.
  • The start and end timings for lessons are staggered.
  • Blended learning: lectures are made available online (via Live Broadcast/video recordings) and on-campus so students can learn with flexibility.
  • High-touch surfaces are cleaned more frequently and disinfect the premises daily.
  • Students and staff will practice frequent hand-washing throughout the day and practice wipe down of tables and shared equipment after use.
  • Intermingling across classes and levels will be minimized.
  • There will be spaced seating in all common areas, classrooms, and offices.

New Modes of Learning

In light of the current COVID-19 situation, all of our programmes have been adapted to help you to succeed and enjoy learning while keeping you safe. We have implemented a Live Broadcast of classes and recorded lecture videos in order to enhance your learning experiences. You can expect the same high standards of teaching, support, and access to facilities as you would every year, but with some changes to the way activities and services are made available to you.

Live Broadcast of Lectures and Tutorials will occur live during the actual lesson timeslots, following class timetable. The option of accessing video recordings of these classes will be made available for students who wish to either revisit the lessons, or who have missed the Live Broadcast sessions.

With these two new learning features added, local and international students are welcome to learn on campus or attend the Live Broadcast of classes from the comfort of their homes. We seek to ensure your undisrupted learning, and your education never stops!

How is Singapore handling the COVID situation?

The Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) of Singapore has been closely monitoring the local and global COVID-19 situation. Despite that local community transmission remains low, individuals need to remain vigilant. The MTF has continued to review the latest evidence on COVID-19 and put in place strategies to manage new infections at dormitories, ensuring a calibrated safe reopening of activities.

Safe Distancing/Safe Management Measures

Since the beginning of Singapore’s safe management measures, all individuals have maintained at least 1 metre safe distance with each other, as per the requirement at the workplace. The number of persons per event are capped at 50 people to limit the risk of exposure to infection.

Wearing masks is mandatory

The use of masks is mandatory when people go outside their homes. The use of masks that closely and completely cover the nose and mouth will be required as a default. Employers must ensure that all onsite personnel, including employees, and visitors, except during activities that require masks to be removed. Masks will have to be worn immediately after the activity is completed.

Enhancement to SafeEntry and the TraceTogether Programme

To support the safe and gradual resumption of activities, the MTF will also be enhancing the TT programme and SE to facilitate rapid and comprehensive contact tracing. All individuals are required to check-in and check-out of any places they visit using the SafeEntry visitor management system to help the Ministry of Health (MOH) in establishing potential transmission chains.

Lifting travel restrictions

Singapore’s borders are now reopening gradually to allow safe travel in limited numbers, with the necessary safeguards in place to ensure public health considerations are addressed. Travelers planning to enter Singapore must comply with the prevailing border control measures and public health requirements, a summary of the measures by the government of Singapore can be found here.

Singapore is also in ongoing discussions with various countries and regions on developing bilateral arrangements for safe travel. We will continue to update our border measures, taking into account our understanding of the virus and developments in other countries and regions.

By limiting close contact among individuals, while maintaining hygiene and safety management measures/principles, Singapore is slowly resuming more activities without substantially raising the risk of new clusters of infections.
