During the last decade, Singapore’s education system has remained consistently at or near the top of most major world education ranking systems. International students are planning to enter Singapore's primary and secondary schools in ever larger numbers in recent years.
Students seeking admission to Singapore mainstream primary and secondary schools are required to sit for the Admission Exercise for International Students (AEIS) or S(Supplementary)-AEIS examinations conducted by the Singapore Ministry of Education around September/October and Supplementary AEIS(S-AEIS) examinations conducted in February every year. Students who are successful in the AEIS or S-AEIS exam will be admitted by the Ministry of Education to a government school.
Our preparatory courses are designed to help those students bridge the gap between the education system in their home countries and Singapore. International students will be prepared for admission into Singapore Government Primary and Secondary schools.
AEIS English Courses
The AEIS English courses are designed based on the Ministry of Education English Syllabus. Emphasis will be given to the components tested in the English AEIS / S-AEIS test. Skills in reading, writing, vocabulary acquisition, and grammar knowledge will be emphasized and taught throughout the course. Speaking and listening skills will also be fostered through a variety of texts, media, and teaching strategies.
We emphasize English in our preparatory courses, both as a subject in itself and as a medium for learning other subjects. The lecturers will also help students understand mathematical or scientific concepts which are expressed in English.
AEIS Math Courses
The AEIS Math courses are designed based on the Ministry of Education Mathematics Syllabus. Emphasis will be given to the components tested in the Mathematics AEIS / S-AEIS test. Conceptual knowledge, problem-solving heuristics, reasoning skills, and procedural skills will be emphasized and taught throughout the course. Students will learn to solve both routine and non-routine problems.
The courses will familiarize students with mathematical terms in English apart from learning mathematical skills. Our lecturers will help students master the skill of answering mathematics questions in English, rather than in their native language.
